1. What is forensic science?
It is an application of science and mathematics to answer questions that do not have a answer and you need to look for it related to a criminal case

2. What kind of evidence can be collected in a murder case?
Fingerprints, hair, blood, some kind of weapon, fabric of the clothes of the murder and more.

3. Why is important to determine the time of death?
When someone has been killed not just by knowing the evidence can be known how killed. For example if the suspect was there at 2:15 day 2 at the same site person X was killed if the time of death says he was found death day 1 at 03:00 hours then the suspect could be innocent.

4. What methods are commonly used to find the time of death?
The rate method: by measuring events that occur at known rates. E.g. Rigor mortis, body temperature, degree of putrefaction.
The concurrence method: By comparing the occurrence of events which took place at known times. E.g. a wrist watch stopped by a blow during an assault, the extent of digestion of the last known meal.

5. What factors are considered in Algor Mortis?
The "size" of the body. Fat slow..! Clothing and coverings Movement and humidity of the air. Immersion in water. Clothed body will cool in air at the rate of about 1.5oC an hour for the first 6 hours & 1oC for the first 12h.

6. How does the environment affect the time of death?
Because the algor mortis won’t be the same if it is raining or windy and other factors. Also the reproduction of bacteria is different in every type of climate.

7. What can you tell about the different methods of temperature reading of the body? Do they make a difference in the results?
I don’t think there is a difference in the results but there are different formulas and you may get the most appropriated to the evidence or data you have.



I think the main goal of this project is to apply everything we have learn of the integral and the differential calculus. For me this is very important because is not just using the manual or doing homework, but using the tools they gave us this past two semesters.
